me too! I'm only 34, but love the old stuff. It has soul, and character rather than the bubble gum pop they pass of as "country".

I miss real rock music too, but that's a different thread

Some Depression Era Radios...Best to listen on a Tube Radio

For the folks wondering what a real Radio looks like:

You're gonna make me sit here and listen all night aren't you?

I was born a generation after these songs but trips to the cabin with Grandpa got me hooked on this "old-time" quality music.

Tomorrow I'll be road tripping up to CO.
I'll be listening to Willies' Roadhouse along the way.
Maybe they will play this one as I cruise along.
What happened! I loaded 'On the Road Again' and it multiplied in a bunch of things.

I love the old twang and country/western music. The new country really sucks. It's nothing more than pop/hip hop but the singers are driving F150's and wearing boots.

Waylon
Johnny
Ernst
Merle
etc.......gosh we miss you guys

That is one neat song..

I can't believe that I don't know that one.

Well, thanks for posting. I know it now.:)

PS: This music doesn't sound right unless it's a little thin and tinny with very little audible bass because that's the way we heard it on AM radio and maybe a little static and scratch of the 'record players' of the time.

This is Glen's last song. Very touching.

For the folks wondering what a real Radio looks like:

My late brother spent the last years of his life meticulously and beautifully restoring old vacuum-tube radios. He had an amazing mini-museum of them.

He became too ill eventually to complete work on the mammoth radio from a World War II PBY Catalina.

I liked it when County-Western had a little more Western,,, Marty Robins and a little more Swing,,, Bob Wills. Lost interest in CW in the late 70s and about the only one I have liked in recent years is George Strait, and he is an old man now.

These artist will stay in my playlist for the rest of my life..the more I hear them, the more I can identify with the songs and the more they speak to me.

Recently noticed a thing for folk/ country artists with good slide guitar work..another thing thats been missing from the Country music scene far too long..

Shooter Jennings - Lonesome blues comes on my Pandora as I'm typing this..
