The Model 25-2.....
Picked this up off a GS table this past spring.
Had this out at the deer lease yesterday to see how it shot.
Just alot of fun.

Some of the other hunters were in camp and all that wanted got
to shoot it......about 100 rounds later about half wanted to buy it.
Accurate Smith...

I've never been much of a fan of semi-auto cartridges in a revolver. Never really saw much point in it.
However, I do own one .45 acp revolver and its a 25-2 just like your's. These were built for target shooting and absolutely excel at it. :D Try it with some 200gr LSWC target loads and you'll love it even more. :D

That is a cool looking gun in the OP's picture. However, I agree with Grayfox regarding the use of auto-pistol cartridges in revolvers.

That said, I do have a 5-inch Model 610 (no dash) and a bunch of moon clips for it that I inherited from my brother. A couple years ago I purchased several thousand rounds of factory JHP 10mm ammo and I do enjoy the occasional trip to the range with my 610, in spite of the hassle of loading and unloading moon clips (even though I do have one of the popular moon clip loading/unloading tools). Given the choice, I always prefer shooting revolvers with rimmed cartridges.

That's really cool that 'old gal' was the pride of the range that day. Sure, you could have sold her off that day...but couldn't replace her!

Me, too, that's why they came up with the Auto Rim .45 case. Much more convenient than using those pesky clips, but some prefer the clips and that's fine as well.

Nice 25's

Been hoping to come across one of these some day. Several years ago I picked up three boxes of NOS RP auto rim for $10 a box. (yeah I know, I felt bad for a while but got over it) Some time later I found a nice 1917. Justification for the purchase to my wife of course was that I had ammo, but no gun to shoot it in. Love the gun and found that the auto rim ammo was so much less trouble than using the moon clips. Also I reload, so I powered the reloads down for less wear & tear on the gun. Starline is still making the brass so if you know anyone who reloads, they could probably make you up a batch.
