Just another day.

I would say that anyone who fully supports the 2nd Amendment ought to be fine and dandy with open carry. The right of the people "to keep and bear arms", remember? It doesn't say "to keep and hide arms". A concealed handgun was once considered a tactic of scoundrels and criminals. The cultural norm has shifted, so that now CC is seen as noble and crafty, while OC is seen as aggressive and foolhardy. I see it as a personal choice, and would never criticize another for their choice.

I admire your style of explanation of the current situation of the gun policies of this country. I wish I could've done that.
But you are absolutely right and what is sad for me is, that the pro-gun people began to accept the norms set by the anti-gun crowd.

They think if they do not bug them they will be OK.
That's how prayers from the schools eliminated.
That's how the kids in the United States of America wearing t-shirts with US flag on it to the schools sent home for improper/offensive attire.
That's why we celebrate "holiday season" instead of Christmas.
That's how we are challenged to remove the words "under God" from the pledge...
and many more......

Open Carry

In Minnesota our permit allows us to carry either open or concealed. Up north, or out in the country when hunting, camping, and hiking, open carry makes sense. Where I live, in a major metropolitan area I always carry concealed. I cannot imagine going into a shopping mall, grocery, or big box store with a handgun in plain view. Many people today (maybe most) have a real fear of firearms (especially soccer moms and dads - thank you media for that). The simple fact is that handguns scare the hell out of a majority of the people living in large metropolitan areas. A wise man once said that you carry concealed because, "you don't want to spook the horses." I think that makes good sense. Just because I have a right (and permit) to open carry doesn't mean that it makes good sense to do that in all aspects of everyday life.
