Just curious - anybody ever used or have a "Sneaky Pete" holster?

I'm just curious. I see these advertised every month in the American Rifleman. I son't know as I'd want to use one every day but for certain circumstances, one might not be to carry - they are somewhat of a "dressy" look.

I usually carry on the belt - don't like carrying IWB. I'm hoping to pick up a new 9mm Shield this next week. I'm thinking one of these might work well for certain occasions where I couldn't cover with a shirt tail. Just don't know how well they hold up, how well the cover snaps work, etc.

Anyone every use one or know somebody who does have one - are they satisfied?

I bought one once for my S&W BG380. I didn't particularly like it, as it essentially takes two hands to get the gun out: one to raise the flap and one to remove the gun.... and even that's not an easy draw. I ended up selling it to a friend of mine. YMMV

Bought one when they first came out for my LCP. I took one look at it, tried it for fit, didn't like it and threw it in a drawer of unused stupid stuff and dumb purchases!
Have never looked at it again!

Just because some others may not like the holster doesn't mean you won't enjoy it. I own one and am happy with it. Put on your "big-boy pants" and come to your own conclusion.

My friend bought one like it think it is a Bulldog but only cost $12. He loves it but then he has never cleaned his new Shield and had no idea hoe to remove the slide. That when I ask him if he had cleaned it. You could be dead twice by the time you get the gun out and it also only works with the 40s 6 round mag. Looks like he is carrying a notebook case on his hip. Don

WE (CC people) know it's concealing a pistol, but NON Carry (aka Sheeple) don't give 'em a second look, nor could they care less.

Ease of use... One needs 2 hands to put an IWB pistol into use too. One to lift the conceal garment and one to draw the pistol, so no big difference there, but ease of getting it out of the pouch is something to ponder.

Ease of use... One needs 2 hands to put an IWB pistol into use too. One to lift the conceal garment and one to draw the pistol, so no big difference there, but ease of getting it out of the pouch is something to ponder.

With the right method one should need only one hand to sweep the conceal garment out of the way and draw the support hand need to be getting into position to go into place. You don't need two to draw from the Sneaky Pete or Bulldog the flap is magnetic and can be flipped up with your thumb but it would take a lot of practice and then getting the gun out is the next challange. Don

I apologize if there was a thread and I missed it - I'm not on this site that much.

classic bob - the reason I post this is to find out what and if others have one or have used one - glad your's works for you but there really is no reason for the "big boy pants" comment. I THOUGHT the purpose of forums such as this was to share information - not to be a "smart mouth". I have only been shooting for 50+ years so I guess that I, or the other individual who responded, are not as smart as you are and have a whole lot more to learn? If someone asks a question - they are asking it for a purpose and I have always been willing to share information if I can - but that's how I was brought up - old school.

Thanks for those that shared - greatly appreciate it. My main concern on the holster was "draw" and the ease of it if necessary. The large "flap" concerns me - it seems like it could get in the way. I could see it being an issue over an open top holster when riding in a vehicle. We often travel to a larger city near us when we are in AZ where carjackings, car jackings with assaults, etc. do happen. Several years back, a fellow drove in to a drive in drug store window to pick up a prescription - as he waited, two teenage girls yanked his doors open (they were unlocked) and attempted to carjack his car at gun point. He shot one and the other got away. I'm thinking the "sneaky pete" might be a tad bit harder to draw from in a lot of circumstances. I always try to be aware of my surroundings and what is going on but the last thing I want is a difficult holster to have t draw from.

Thanks for your input and thoughts on them. I'm going to "pass" on a sneaky pete and will just continue to dress to allow the way I noisily carry.

My wife has one it appears well made but it's not concealment by any means. It's bigger than any device case I've ever seen

Why do you need two hands to draw IWB? Same as OWB except the pistol is closer to your belly?

Some people use 'tuckable' IWB holsters. You gotta un-tuck the shirt, right?
and as mentioned, the SP can be done one handed.[shrug]

I guess I still don't see why you wouldn't do that with the same hand while keeping the off hand available to fend off an attacker . . . But like gramma said, there's a lid for every pot

and you're assuming everyone is going to wait until the attacker needs to be fended off before drawing... But like yer granny said...

No, I always like to keep one hand free, but if people choose to occupy both, and probably their eyes as they look down at both hands, who am I to say they're wrong . . .
