I was trying to find some information on an old Model 559 that I have owned for years. So here I am in the Newbie's section saying howdy and waiting for someone to ask why I have kept an iron like the 559 for so long! Short answer is I really like the way it shoots. It's heavy as a hawgleg and is in need of some refinishing but it's a tack driver for a 9mm and I may look into doing a refinish on it if I get some positive feedback. I will post in one of the appropriate forums for some answers to my questions.

For now, Greetings from the Panhandle of Florida  where the only people in shorts right now are tourists and plumb NUTS! It has been in the teens off and on for the past month and 20's in between for lows!! Highs between mid-40's to low 70's ................... twice!!

(They never mention any of this in the travel brochures!!)

Welcome from Texas Clockguy. Great forum for all things S&W, have fun, learn lots, share what you know.

I feel the same about my 4506. Built like a tank, had to quit carrying it when I went to plainclothes work. Was always pulling up my pants. Still have it and love it.

Now you got a laugh out of me with that line!!

I seem to remember some hillbilly character on TV years back who used to hike up his pants with his elbows all the time while talking and never missed a beat!!

That's one of the reasons why I don't carry my 559 any more. My hip bones have disappeared into my spare tire and everything down that direction has sort of morphed into a Michelin man look alike!
