I despise guns.but if I had to have one it would probably be a Remington 1100 410g. I'm told it would be a good all around gun.Or maybe a S&W Mod.66 , or maybe a Win. 9422
If I was to bug out and only had time for one, it would be the Governor. I would also grab a small ammo can with .45 ACP mooncliped, .45 Colt, and 410 buckshot and #4.
In thinking about this thread a little more I remembered the times I was only allowed to carry a M16A1. I managed to get a hold of ( I was the Armorer so it was not that hard) one of our sub cal devices and a couple of magazine inserts. My logic was that if I was in a survival situation firing the 22LR would draw less unwanted attention that the 5.56. So I guess I'm still back to a 22 rifle.
If I grabbed at somethin as I was running out the door... possibly for good.. It'd be a rifle... possibly a 22 with decent mag capacity... or a 338 win mag... whatever was closest
i think id take my 6" mod.17 very accurate ammo is more plentiful .if ammo supply over a long period wasnt a factor i would choose my 4 1/4" mod 629 .hate to leave the others behind... if i was actually forced to choose id probably be found in front of my safe still undecided .
I have one go to gun and I have been asked this before and thought it over. It would be my Model 27 for several reasons. One, the ammo. I have enough .357, .38-44 and .38 Special ammo on hand that I would probably never have to reload if it was just that one gun, but I also have my Lyman 310 tool which is totally portable that would let me reload if need be. The gun is quite accurate out to 25 yards, deer killing range here in the Adirondacks. Having .38 Special means small game is fair game too. I can conceal it fairly easily under a coat. This would be nice in a SHTF scenario because would you really want to be seen walking with a long gun if the wrong people see you? In the end it has every thing you could ask if one gun was all you had.
