Just Got My S&W MP 15-22

Hey Everyone,

I just got my S&W MP 15. What is a good holographic sight for it? I was looking at Holographic Tactical 551 Type Red/Green Reflex Dot Sight. What do you think? I need ideas pls.

welcome. buy ammo and mags. shoot it a lot and figure out what you need. there are a ton of good threads on here covering sights and new owners looking to buy. just about everything has been done before so find something that looks good and go with it.

Agreed. Buy a half-dozen magazines and put a thousand rounds through it with the iron sights and then worry about optics and other goodies.

Good Gus and info here. Mine is less than a week old with 200 rounds through it and am loving it. I'll be.putting a bunch more through it this weekend.

Get a good tactical tiype scope that is less than a foot long....Big scopes look like **** on the 15 22 and offer no better accuracy because you don't need a 500 yard scope on a 100 yard rifle.........I have a Ncstar 3-9x42R (under $80) with a ($30) NcStar bi pod....Mine will produce good groups from 25 to 100 yards without you having to spend big bucks.....

I added a few low dollar Walmart doodads and my rifle looks good and shoots good......

I got red dots and reflex sights on other firearms, but for accuracy a scope with cross hair reticles cannot be beat.......If you got plinking in mind go for the dots or reflex.......

I threw a red dot on mine for some bowling pin top matches, otherwise the NC Star or Leapers stuff should work just fine on these low/no recoil fun machines.
