Just One Pen

A fountain pen, always! I gave each of my students nice pens that were donated by my friends , and taught them how to create their own signature.
My fav is a Writers edition Mont Blanc Alexandre Dumas.

Always keep 2 pens in your pocket, one to lend, and one , the one for you

And, if I let someone briefly use one of my best pens, I always keep the cap in my hand. That way it always comes back.

Cross platinum Century w/ fine point blue ink. It replaced a 14K Cross Century given to me by my brother. I used it hard for a little over 40 years. It finally wore out. My wife bought me the replacement. It is still going strong. Second runner up is a Waterman fountain pen which I routinely use for signing documents and sermon preparation. Sincerely. bruce.

I use the Onyx Uni-ball micro. Go through them by the case. My partner hates them and gets some nifty ball point with the law firm name on them. She forgets them everywhere so I suppose its good advertising.

I have owned a 4 piece Parker Duo-fold set since the mid 1980's and have used it everyday since then. It sits right here on my desk and all 4 pieces are used daily.

Large Fountain Pen - Medium Nib
Ball Point
Mechanical Pencil
Roller Ball

I have 8 or 9 different inks I like to use in the Fountain pen but my favorite is the Diamine Majestic Blue.

Fountain pens, early ball points, and even pencils have always been anathema for me.

Being left handed, the side of my hand is covered with ink/graphite, and the paper is smeared and smudged. Thankfully we now have fast drying inks.

I would have expected nothing less than the wide range of writing implements form this diverse and distinguished group!!

Texas Star, you have picked a great topic here.

I am a pen and pencil junkie. I have all sorts of pens and pencils. Dozens. My favorite fountain pen is a Waterman in a beautiful marbled green finish. But TS is correct; you cannot use fountain pens for multi layered forms. I also have advertising pens that I order for my program which I always keep to hand out to one and all, and to use myself.

Best Regards, Les

I have always liked Fountain Pens and use one in JHS, HS & College. After Graduating College I remember asking my Grandmother about the dozens of Fountain Pens my Grandfather kept in his desk drawer (by then he had passed away). He had a bunch of different brands and some were in marble colors. So my Grandmother said to me, - "oh, those old messy pens..... I threw them all out". My heart sunk!

I still subscribe to two Fountain Pen Forums and still receive a monthly newsletter via email from one of them.

I use the bottom of these two pens, a Cross that I've had for years, for writing. It just seems to do that smoothly and on almost everything. I also use the top of it for punching ATM and gas pump buttons instead of using my fingers in this virus season.

The top one I carry when I'm on a commercial airline. It's better than nothing if and when. Oh, yeah - it also writes.

John
