I was thinking on the m 308 for the optics and i plan on using this for shootimg and hunting and some long ranging shooting for fun
Ok, which of the three is the higher priority? A long range rifle can be heavy to carry for hunting. From everything I've read, and what little time I've spent with my M-308, the price for the performance is very good. The factory trigger is a little heavy but not as bad as some that are out there and it runs pretty darn smooth for a factory trigger. You might want to shoot it some to make a final determination on the trigger. Of course, if long range isok a priority, you might want to swap out the trigger anyway. Since it is going to be a field rifle as well, you might want to look at a 4 or 4.5 pound trigger over the lighter ones, just for safety's sake. The hand guard can be last. Out of the box, most people are very happy with the rifle's accuracy. Check out Nutnfancy's review on youtube. One of the other members posted it in a thread. You might want to look at a Magpul "drop in" hand guard instead because of the added heat shield and I think it feels better than the stock one. Whatever way you go, have fun!
