i have always wanted an AR but never could decide on what to get. theres so much to consider as to the different options. i currently have a saiga 223 and it filled the coyote gun and plinker need. will i decided a few months ago i wanted to go for it. I had strongly considered the sport just to get me started and i could make it my own from there. I honestly know very little about the AR platform. I have a few m&p pistols and am very happy with them so I wanted to stay with an m&p. I have a good friend who was a marine and he decided the 15t was what he wanted from a stock platform. that's how i made the decision. im pretty stoked to get it in my hands, do some shooting and see if i like it.

anything i should know?

I also just ordered a 15T.
I'm also a M&P pistol fan and decided that the 15 T was the best choice for my first AR.
I also picked up a 40 compact and a 9mm Shield.
Had been waiting until I moved from Commiefornia to Washington to be out of their ridiculous gun laws.

My 15T has run flawlessly and will serve you well. If I had it all over to do again, I would build my own AR starting with a quality billet upper/lower and barrel. I have made so many changes to my 15T, it's not even recognizable.

The 4 rules of gun safety would be a good place to start...

Or were you talking about the particular rifle? :D
I have been shooting for 20 years or so and have taken numerous classes, from a hunters safety to a 2 day defensive pistol class. You can never have enough safety.
Yes, specifically the rifle.

you will enjoy the 15t, a very good choice. the 15t was my first AR and ive bought and sold many, many guns since then and i love my 15t the most. funny story i actually lost my 15t in my divorce to my ex wife in the great gun split as i call it, and replaced it with a cmmg and then a sig, ended up selling both those then heard that my ex sold my 15t to a friend i knew and i made an offer to him and got the rifle back. im sure youll enjoy yours. i recommend the magpul ctr stock and an angled foregrip as a must have but thats just me.

There is a never ending rabbit hole of information on the AR-15 platform. In general, keep it clean, lubricated, and it should work. My best advice is to shoot a few hundred rounds with your rifle in it's OEM stock configuration before adding on things. You need to discover your preferences before buying accessories. I had to learn this lesson the hard way.

This is what has kept me from getting one til now. That is my plan, I will need a fore grip of some sort to start. The quad rail may not be the best thing to hold onto. Do they make smooth covers for rails?

You'll love it. Simply apply Jeff Cooper's 4 rules for safety and you'll be fine. I just bought my 15T a couple months ago -- it had been 37 years since I carried an M16. Thought I'd have fun with one for a change! Really like the EOTech EXPS2-0 optic, see pic:

I got my M15T a little over a month ago. price paid $999. With my 55 years old eyes, the first accessory I got for it is an Eotech 512Holographic site, which with glasses on or off works beautifully for me. This is not my first AR15. I had a Colt I bought in 1980, but the M&P is far more improved than my original Colt.

Advice I can give? Happiness is Accessorizing

Have a 15T and love it, only thing I have added is a magpul stock and a couple of cosmetic things.....and a couple of optics. Never had a fte, ftf, or any other malfunction and don't tell anyone but I haven't even so much as run a bore snake through it in about 6-7 hundred rounds and it still runs great.

6-7 Hundred rounds? That's a range day with the kids for me. I've had my T since about the time that they changed the twist rate, I have an 1/8'' barrel. The only thing that I have changed on it is the BCG and buffer.

lets all be honest, were here for the pictures!!
