Just picked up this model 10-7 snubby- shall I get the second one as well?

ok, gang - I just picked this 10-7 snubby for $575 out of the door at my LGS. I am pretty happy with it. The only problem is they have another one, in the same condition, selling for the same price...Neither had a box but in a very solid VG+ condition. I have the other one on hold...

Does this look like a fair / market price given the configuration and the condition? Wanted to check with the group here, as I am thinking about buying the second one as well. Can't have too many RB S&W snubbies IMHO...

The one at the store...(it was hard to pick between the two, condition wise, they were so close, and even the SNs were close - AWT and AWP numbers...

Your decision. $575 is a bit high but you don't often see them for sale in that condition. I have three RB model 10 snubbys. A finish challenged 10-5 and two nice 10-7s. Can't have too many.

Anytime you can find a nice slightly used, older S&W, buy it.
There is always a demand, and they never go down in value.
I don’t care if you paid $2 for a nice old Smith, invariably, there’s that guy who has to chime in that the price was a little steep because they were cheaper 30 years ago.

If you paid too much. Just wait a few years. What you paid today will seem like a bargain.
Plus, who doesn’t love a nice M10 snub?

I would get the second one. Even if you just clean it well, wax it and store it away, it will retain its value. No more like that will ever be made.

I'd get the 2nd one also. I had two 15's show up a day apart at my LGS. The first one was a beautiful 4" and the next one was a 2.5? snubby; just as clean as the first one, with a nice leather holster...yep, couldn't let that snubby get away. Since then, I've seen several other 4" 15's but not another snubby so far! So, how much did each one of them cost? Hell, I can't recall...but it was worth it!

Go get the 2nd one, the price you paid will fade as you enjoy shooting it more. Plus....2-handed shooting of Model 10's, that would be cool!

They lowered both from $600 to $540, and then the state tax at 6% to get me OTD at $575 each.

Back at you with my 10-5 snubby in SB configuration. Mine is dated back to 1962, it came with diamond target grips which I assume were not original (but comfy to keep a good handle on it), so I put those Magnas. I assume a 10-5 before 1968 should have come with Magnas with diamonds in the center?
