Had to run an errand over to mid-town Tampa during lunch and killed two birds with one stone by also picking up this nice unfluted cylinder full lug barrel 629-2. It's been a few years since I've had a 629 in the safe and I thought I was overdue for another one. Don't know a lot about the -2 model, this is the first I owned. Is the unfluted cylinder and full lug anything special, like a LH? I'll have to do some research in the SCSW4 when I get home. Also came with a couple boxes of ammo…target and SD. I'll probably shoot mostly mild loads in it since it's not a -2E. I got it for $800😜IMG_8239.jpegIMG_8238.jpeg

I cleaned it up a bit and swapped the Hogues for some newer square butt Combats I refinished sometime in the past. It really cleaned up nicely, though it wasn't that dirty to begin with. It certainly is a visually stunning revolver. I know some of you don't like the full underlug, but to me, that and the unfluted cylinder give the revolver a certain symmetry.

I did some research last night when I got home, and like CWH44300 said, it's a Classic Hunter, Product Code 103616 with 5000 produced.

I think I did very well on the price and can't believe it sat on Florida Gun Trader for almost a month before I snagged it. I'd like to get it to the range this weekend, but I've got a lot going on…packing up for a move, and being on call. We'll see…I'll do a range report if I can make it.IMG_8256.jpegIMG_8255.jpeg

It cleaned up very nice!
That gun would have been 1200 or better here in Maine
I passed on a ratty dash three last winter at a small country store, he wouldn't budge off 1200
You truly got this for a great price
Hang on to the factory grips, they are what it shipped with
Congrats again and I hope you enjoy it as much as I would
