4.25" barrel now with a Trijicon RMR rear sight (RM02 with 8MOA dot). Took no time at all to transition to the new sight. Very happy with the gun's accuracy with the fast twist barrel and the CORE trigger is almost as good as the Pro trigger the Performance Center put on my M&P45 and other M&P9. All in all, a darn good investment. Very impressed with mounting system S&W came up with. Takes all the different sights currently available and all that needed is choosing the right adapter plate from the set S&W provides with the gun.

Just bought the wife the 9L CORE - should be at Gander Mtn tomorrow. Only just realized IT DOESN'T COME WITH THE RED DOT SHOWN IN ALL THE PICS OF THE GUN!! Not happy with GM at all since it doesn't say anywhere on their listing that it comes dot-less. Gat is still worth the price, but... Be a nice compliment to my standard mp9 in our arsenal.

I get my 9mm ammo at Georgia Arms. $130 for 500 rounds. Have never had a FTF from them yet and I by my 38 SPL there too.

No **** it doesnt come with a $500 RMR.

I did a non-firing A/B of a S&W Core with a 5.25" Springfield XDm Competition model at a LGS. I like the trigger on the Core, but don't care for the three white dots on the fixed sights (if you are not planning on a red-dot). I have wide hands, and felt a bit squeezed. The Springfield has a longer grip, more room, although very aggressive surface treatment, has an adjustable target rear with light pipe front sight. The trigger has a longer pull, both have some takeup, the S&W feels a bit crisper. Both have 3 interchangeable backstraps, don't know which ones were on the pistols i handled. Kind of leaning to the XDm because of the grip room, the sights, and the longer sight radius (my use would be range only).

I bought the M&P-9 CORE in 5" barrel Thursday and cleaned it that nite.
I surprised myself Friday at the range; great accuracy out of the box. Now to save up for an optic! It is definitely the pistol I will take to Front Sight Training for another 4-day Defensive Handgun and or Skillbuiilder course.
They had the 4.24" in 9 & 40, + the 5" .40S&W. So Smith is really catching up on backorders.

I pick up my CORE 9 today and been doing some dry fire, comparing the trigger with my G17 with the 4.5# connector I love the way that the CORE's trigger breaks. The Glocks trigger is kind of mushy and also the CORE's trigger feels lighter not to mention the very short reset, the new texture on the blackstraps feels good in the hands.

Did Georgia Arms lower the price? I paid 145.00 for 500 124 gr.
