Hi guys, I'm new to the thread, thanks! I inherited a sweet K-22 from my Dad so I'm trying to determine age and value. I'll add pics - serial number is K 87292. It shoots fantastic, accuracy just as described on this forum. Any and all information is appreciated!

Looks like a very nice shooter-condition gun. Book says it shipped in 1950. Grips look correct.

It's a bit dependent on where you live, but squeezing $700 out of the right buyer should be possible. Lots of people want one in that condition because only a small segment will pay a premium for a mint rimfire --- these guns beg to be shot.

K-22

Thanks, guys! Extremely helpful information. Do you like the vintage Bauer Bros. holster? :)

Nice looking K-22. I own K85403 that shipped in June of 1950 so unless yours was one of those fluke shipments it probably left the factory in July or August of 1950.

That is a neat old holster but don't store it in the holster as it can damage the metal over time. There are acids in the leather that don't play nicely with metal.

I agree with a likely 1950 shipment.

The nice thing about this one is that everything appears to be original, right down to the stocks. Have you checked to see if the number on the inside of the right panel matches the serial number of the gun? I'd bet it does.

That is a cool old holster. JSR III's advice is good.

K-22

Hey Jack, yes the serial numbers match, thanks. This forum is terrific!

Great looking revolver, love K-frame 22's. Is the area of the checkering of the grips darker than the rest of the grip?

Those Bauer holsters must have been popular back in the day. I inherited my father's K22 in 1965 when he passed. It shipped 11/1947. He always kept it in the Bauer holster. Back in 2011 while traveling through Kansas I came across another Bauer at a roadside antique shop. Now I put my K38 in it when need be.

That's really a beautiful old revolver. Just the right patina that comes with honest usage. And from your Dad, PRICELESS!
