K-22 Front Sight Help

I just aquired this nice K-22 and it is need of its original front sight. At some point a custom sight was installed. Does anyone have an idea of where to source an original Patridge sight?

It took me about 10 years before I found one on fleabay. You might also look for one for a model 14/K38.

A front sight for a K-38 would be taller than one for a K-22 and would need to be shortened for the correct point of aim.

A gunsmith can easily make a new Patridge sight for it. Just sayin’.

Going back to the Patridge would be a worthwhile endeavor.
I wish I could be more helpful beyond that.
A one- off by a competent ‘smith , as mentioned above, is probably the route I would pursue.

If you have any buddies that are tool & Die makers or master machinists, they could make one but would probably need to see one on a similar gun to take measurements.

I have searched pretty hard for a original sight. May have to purchase a barrel and salvage the sight from it. Any ideas on who might have vintage parts for these old K-22's?

Not sure if it’s the same as the K22? The Gunbusters group of vendors has a new batch of parts every week. Most models will eventually show up if watch them long enough. People bid them up though. I think the last Mod 17 lot went for about $160.

This may be what you are looking for, but your early K22 might have come with a 1/10" front sight:

Blade .125", Height .343", and Rib width .218

You might try Jack First Gun Parts. I would call instead of just looking on their site.
