K-38 DOM

Anybody have a general DOM for K-38 with a serial # of 191193 TIA for any input.

Any letters on the flat bottom of the grip frame along with the digits?

A .38 M & P (fixed sight) with no letter in the SN - 1912.
A K-38 Masterpiece (K prefix, adjustable sight) - 1951.

Don't get me started and C and D prefixes.

I own s/n K127435 and it shipped 11/1951.

Roy Jinks once published a manufacturing serial number list for post-WWII K frames and K175,638 to K210,255 were all manufactured in 1953.

So! The serial number is actually K191193 (the serial number includes the K).
Your K-38 Masterpiece most likely shipped in 1953. Here are a couple nearby examples:

K186542, a .22 Combat Masterpiece, shipped in May, 1953;
K196782, a K-22 Masterpiece, shipped in October, 1953.

Add that to Mike's: K185470 shipped 5/1953
