K-Frame .38 Special M&P 5-screw

Looking for any information I can find on a nice modified Hand-Ejector I picked up recently. The gun originally had a 5" barrel and is square-butt style.
Serial Number S879818. There is a strain-screw on the front of the grip-frame. It is a 5-screw frame. It has fixed sights and is chambered in .38 S&W Special.

It has the small knurled ejector rather than the early 'mushroom-head' type. the model number is not present under the yoke.

I'll be happy to provide additional information if needed.

Probably shipped in March or April, 1947. This was shortly after the extractor rod started getting the knurled end, replacing the older barrel shaped knob.
