"K-22 Masterpiece " was the name used before Model marking,
After 1957 it became the Model 17,
Basically all post war 6" and 8 3/8" K-22's are "K-22 Masterpiece " revolvers.
S&W began offering a 4" version around 1950 and called it the "K-22 Combat Masterpiece" to distinguish it from the longer barrel ones,
those became the Model 18.

Well, not exactly. When model numbers were assigned, they did not eliminate the names. The K-22 Masterpiece became the Model 17 K-22 Masterpiece. The model numbers were added; the names remained.
The actual name was .22 Combat Masterpiece. Neither the 4" K-22 nor the 4" K-38 were referred to in the company literature as K-22 or K-38. Those monikers were/are commonly used, but the catalogs and the boxes reflect just the caliber and the term "Combat Masterpiece."
Model 18 .22 Combat Masterpiece.

K-22 Masterpiece, Second Model (aka K-22/40) 1940 only
K-22 Masterpiece, Third Model 1946-1957 (maybe only 1 shipped in 1946; full production in 1947)
K-22 Masterpiece Model 17 1958-1959
K-22 Masterpiece Model 17-1 1959-1960
K-22 Masterpiece Model 17-2 1961-1966
K-22 Masterpiece Model 17-3 1967-1976
K-22 Masterpiece Model 17-4 1977-1987
K-22 Masterpiece Model 17-5 1988 (maybe some in 1989)
K-22 Masterpiece Model 17-6 1990-1993
K-22 Masterpiece Model 17-7 1994-1995
K-22 Masterpiece Model 17-8 1996-1999 (ten shot cylinder)
K-22 Masterpiece Model 17-8 Heritage 2001-?
K-22 Masterpiece Model 17-9 "Classic" 2009-? (IL)

You are correct Jack, then again it depends on how fine you set the microscope.
For instance there are actually several different variations of Pre war K22 OD's, the earliest have an early 1 screw site inherited from the M&P target and Gold bead front site insert.
Bright bead guns appear about the same time as the new rear site with a new set screw,
later OD's had a Humpback hammer and Magna stock option,
The last OD's had the new large right side TM found on all K-22-40's.
There are also two different variants of the 17-6 , earliest having the 17-5 HB and later ones having the new full underlug barrel.
Lastly your K-22 chart doesnt include the Model 18 or 617 line which are also both K-22's

No. There was some overlap as parts were used up.
You can tell for sure whether it is a -2 by looking at the location of the front screw on the rear sight. If it is directly over the barrel/cylinder gap, it is a -2.
Also, is 1967 a ship date, obtained from Roy? Or are you just counting on the serial number lists to give you a date?
