What year mfg would a k22 sn 25596 be, thanks for any help?

Is there a K in front of that number which should be read only from the butt of the frame?

If it is K 25596 on the grip frame, it would have probably shipped around mid-1948. It should have the so-called "1-Line" address (MADE IN USA) stamped on the frame. That stamping stopped at about K30000, so yours may be a little more desirable than later examples having the "4-Line" address.

I'm not sure those numbers given above are correct regarding the 1946 production. I'm thinking there were VERY few cranked out in 1946. I may be very wrong though.
