What gun are you on the lookout for?

I've been putting off posting this bc I've been so blasted busy! "Open your own business!" They said. "It'll be fun!" They said… For me it has been a 52 (no dash). I was on the ROTC rifle team in college, and Coach had one. I've wanted one ever since! And today, I found one… I stole it for $800!!!

We all have our holy grails. And we have frivolous desires. And there are things we'd just like to try. What are some of yours?

My holy Grail is a deep blue pre-lock model 27 in 6" or 4".

I'd also like a 745, a stub-nose 28 or 29, an M1 Garand, a Glock47, a CZ75, a high end stainless 1911, a 1911 in 45ACP, a PCC of some type, a walther PPK (a Bond gun).

The reason I don't have all of these is that I'm a bargain hunter. It's hard for me to justify the cost to buy my holy grail. The enjoyment I get out of guns is significant..... But not enough to justify the cost of a say, a model 27 in fine condition. Finding a bargain is part of the fun, I guess.

What's on your wish list?
3" K frame.
Haven't seen one in the wild for over 25 years.

Ithaca Mdl 37 in 20ga, modified choke. The fancier grade with vent rib and decent wood in the stock.
Always liked Ithaca pumps.
In the 90's I had a Model 37 20 gauge Deerslayer with the shorter smoothbore barrel and rifle sights. IC choke.
The thing was scary accurate. I could ring a 7 or 8" plate at 100 yards with monotonous regularity shooting from any not-so-great rest, using 3 different brands of slugs. Federal, Remington, Brenneke.
For some forgotten stupid reason I traded it in on some other gun at a gun store after a couple of years.
Dumb. Dumb. Dumb.

Three of the last four have been 9mm semi autos which I swore up and down for years I'd never own. Two of the three have never been fired by me so that brings up the question as to why I wanted them in the first place? I don't know.

The fourth is a S&W 41. I have wanted one of these for a long, long time but could never bring myself to part with the cash. But when I read that S&W was discontinuing the M41, I parted with the cash.

Dang if I'm not in the same boat. For years I wanted nothing to do with 9mm pistols. However, while stationed in Germany, Waffen Frankonia was selling DDR police P-08s for about 75 bucks. That cheap, I figured I ought to have a Luger. Since then I fell clean off the wagon and there's a bucket full of nines here.
