I have acquired a pre 18 s/n 1619xx. My SCSW states that pre 15's & pre 18's began with s/n K18732-K73121 in 1949. Above that it states that pre 14's & pre 16's began with s/n K615-K18731 in 1947. As indicated my gun's s/n falls into the latter. Is is a 1947 gun?
Thanks, Mike

As always, don't trust the tables. They're a guide, nothing more. 1947 shipments started about K150, not the K600s as often quoted. Many guns in production were shipped in the following year.

The OP uses 161,9xx as his serial. If he inserted the correct number of x's, its a 1950s gun. If he intended to only use one x, and the prefix is K (which it almost has to be), then yes, K16,9xx is either a 1947 or early 1948 gun....probably!
