K32 Masterpiece Redux

Congratulations, great work but I've got to ask, how's she shoot? Recently I sent Alan Siegrist a K22 barrel to be re drilled
and rifled in .32(took the better part of a year) and then sent a mod. 15, the barrel and a k22 I was lucky enough to catch
on ebay to Andy Horvath and he built me a mock up K32 that I had him chamber in .327 Federal magnum (another 9 months wait). Upon receiving this gun back I could only find one box of .32 H&R magnum in my little Illinios town? Now I've got the makings of
RCBS Carbide dies and shell holder and the reloading world has opened to me.

SB, last time I checked, StarLine Brass was making new 32 S&W L, 32 H&R, and 327 FM, and had all in stock. So with the dies you mention, you can order the brass for your choice of lengths and use whatever bullet you desire (from about 85 gr to 125 gr or more) in them. You will probably find the longer bullets with 327 brass adds up to too much OAL in your modified K-22 cylinder... I'm beginning to look more favorably on 32 H&R brass but loaded a little hot. (Don't tell Dale53 or I'll never hear the end of it!)

Very nice project gun. It's nice owning a gun that the average guy can't just walk into a store and buy. I've had Andy build me two K Frame .327 Federal guns and really enjoy shooting them both.

My 16-4, rechambered in .327 Federal is spectacular. Accuracy is off the charts, and there was no negative effects of shooting .32 Long....except POI....there is a 6-7" difference in POI at 20yds. Groups are stellar.

I'll be sure to bring it on July 6th when we get together. I still haven't shot it. But I believe it'll shoot great. It shot great when the muzzle was all corroded. Anyhow , it's better than it was.

What do you mean, “followings?” Are you talking about the rings that sometimes accumulate when firing a shorter cartridge in a longer chamber? If yes, I’ve personally found that “problem” to be overblown. Just a minimal amount of cleaning with a good stiff brush and a little solvent will eliminate the rings easily, if they accumulate at all.

Again, I would strongly suggest you start your own thread for this specific project... I’m sure you will get a lot more views and more helpful comments as well. When I started mine on building “Project 616” several years ago, I was gratified to have the thread go on for a couple of years and several pages. In the end, I got a lot of helpful info and was able to encourage others as well. As a f’rinstance, your mention of Alan Siegrist as an available person for reboring barrels is huge. Most of us didn’t know about him being an option.
