Howdy,

Quick question as I am looking at ordering more 148gr DEWC, should we load the 0.457 diameter or 0.458?

My first batch I ordered 0.458, but recently saw something about target barrel .0457 - would that be for revolvers or the semi-auto S&W 52 type pistol?

Thanks in advance, Bernie

DEWC is unfamiliar to me. Forgive my confusion, but are you talking about bullets? In that case the K38 would require bullets of .357" not .457".

The old rule I always heard was that lead bullets shoot most accurately when sized .001" over the bore dimensions. So that would mean .358 would work well in a K38.

In reality the best thing to do is obtain a sample of bullets in different sizes and try them in your gun to see which it likes best.

My 38 Special in lead are .358. Plated are .357. I use semi wad cutters, but have never used reg. wadcutters. If you post in the reloading section, you will get more feedback. Bob

Thanks fella's, yes I meant .357 and .358, I'm working with a new revolver to me in 45 acp and their diameters are .452 so I transposed the 4 :)
