Kangaroo Carry

Always on the lookout for a new carry design - I checked out their website. First up, I'm no Matt Lauer - but I sure like their models! It'll be interesting to see the feedback you receive here. That said, the belly bands - for lack of a better term - appear to be 100% cotton - so I think the jury is out on how much protection they provide. The $50 price seems high if it's just an elastic band with a cotton pouch sewed to it ...

After watching the videos on there web site (draw techniques) there is no way in a critical life or death situation you are going to retrieve that handgun in time or a safe way.

Might be ok for around the house with no cover shirt or maybe under a open shirt but no way under a polo, pullover, or dress shirt.

Anyone use this for jogging or cycling?

Doesn't look practical to me.

If you're doing strenuous exercises like cycling or jogging, you aren't going to want anything constricting wrapped around your chest right under your pectorals like their Air Marshal 3 rig or the Standard 3.

They say they've been around since '96. I've never heard of 'em until today.

Not something I'd buy.

The only thing I use for jogging or biking or even dog walking is an easy to open "fanny pack" with a "holster" inside - why it is called that I don't know; it is designed to be worn in front of the body at the waist.

Bought 1 of these in the 90's and it's JUNK! Wearing 1 and trying to use a Urinal is very time consuming!

I sometimes use a Kangaroo Carry. I've used one for a Shield 45 PC and I've used another one for a Ruger LCP.

So, belly bands (and ankle holsters) are obviously not the best choices for holsters, but I sometimes use them because they are my only good choices due to what clothing I have to wear and where I have to wear them.

For what it is, I think the Kangaroo Carry (KC) is a good product. It's not a "rubber band" at all. It's made of cotton and you put it around your body and it connects with two velcro straps. The shoulder strap, which is adjustable, is GREAT because it keeps the gun from falling to your waist. There's a couple of pockets for mags. The gun strap is optional, sometimes I use it, sometimes I don't. Wearing the KC takes getting used to because you're not used to having such a device around your body. I highly recommend you put on a t-shirt, then the KC, then a regular shirt. I do NOT recommend it for running/jogging.

The only thing that's a little goofy is that you're supposed to use these large safety pins to make the holster section fit your specific gun. I was a bit disappointed with that initially, but after I set the pins, it's really not a big deal.

Maybe not good for everything.......

But the Kangaroo is darn comfortable. I don't know if it's true, but it's touted as being used by Air Marshall's that have to wear them for a LONG time.

For action situations, I wouldn't suppose it'd be the best, but for wearing around the house, I really like mine.

People also say shoulder holsters are uncomfortable. My body build suits having a shoulder holster. I have a Remora, and I like it.
