Anyone else see that no talent punk interrupt Taylor Swift's acceptance speech at the MTV VMA Awards?

from Forbes.com
Wow, Kanye, you scamp, you've really cemented your bad boy persona now! You jumped up on stage at MTV's Video Music Awards, grabbed the microphone from 19-year-old size double zero country crooner Taylor Swift, who just won for Best Female Video, and really told her what's what. Namely, that you thought Beyoncé's video was better.

With Swift's ringlets falling like Mary Pickford's around her swan-like neck, you made sure to set her straight. This is better than the time Eminem singled out gentle vegan Moby for a tongue-lashing.

I would have liked to see you grab the mic from Madonna or Lady Gaga. You would have quickly found your skull on the wrong end of that Moonman.

In fact, despite those women's reputations as tough broads, you would never see either one of them behave in this fashion. Both of them create controversy at their own expense--and in their own allotted stage time. Both may shock, both may offend, but they do it when it is their turn, not someone else's--especially a young girl having her first moment in the MTV awards spotlight.

Why does this puke think anyone is interested in his opinion in the first place? How is it that people have such an inflated opinion of themselves without any apparent justification? I'd like to say what I'm really thinking but I like hanging out on the S&W Forum and my remarks would surely earn me a vacation...

Did not see this, as I do not watch MTV anymore.
Haven't since they stopped showing videos. (I used to love the ZZ Top videos with the girls, guitars and fast cars! :D)

But I did hear them talking about it and playing a clip of it on the radio this morning.
My already-low opinion of him sunk to even deeper levels.

I will say this, though. The way that Beyonce handled the situation was first class, and she should be commended for her class in a definitely uncomfortable situation.

That drunk thug bullied a 19 year old girl. She didn't know what was going on. How could she think he was going to do this? She says she likes his music. Aren't these guys cool? This guy humuliates this teenage girl. She's the only person he feels safe confronting all by himself. That other creep beats the crap outa his girlfriend. Man. these rappers are tough guys, aren't they? Look at that swagger. They pull this crap but are insulated by an army of bodyguards. Beyonce is a class act to give up her moment to let T. Swift finsh her speech. But as far as these -------'s go, the millions will keep rolling in.

The worst part is, if we reversed the roles, it'd be touted as racism. Thus is the way in America these days...

Pitiful. That thug needs drug out back and kicked down the street.

I like Taylor Swift. My daughters both play her stuff all the time. She's a great kid with a great future ahead of her. I also like Beyonce. I think she's one of the sexiest women in the music business. Both ladies whip out great songs and videos, but I think THIS should have won the best video award!

YouTube - Beyoncé - Single Ladies (Put A Ring On It)

And yes, if you wanna play it WITHOUT the sound, please do.

That's how I watch it. ;)

I suspect the whole sad spectacle was staged by West to generate interest in his appearance on Leno's maiden episode tonight.

Glock em, Taylor won for Best Female Video, Beyonce's Single Ladies did win Video of the Year.

Glock em' down. My wife was watching Beyonce do that song on this show. She called me in. I couldn't believe it! I told my wife those outfits were the sexiest thing I ever seen on TV. I wish I could say more but Lee will banish me to the Colt Forum for a month.

Whew! I'm glad I'm not the only one who thinks she's a hottie. I was wondering about myself there for a little bit. ;)

All A Gimmick

I only saw part of this on MSNBC...Kayne West always seems to look for publicity at someone elses expense and I think that is what this is all about...nothing more. Taylor Whoever just happened to be a target of opprotunity.
Why people even pay attention to a guy like this is beyond me, but considering what he has done/said in the past, I figure someone at the "awards" suspected, knew, or figured he'd pull off something to stay in the public eye...it generates ratings and controversy and makes a rather dubious and unremarkable "awards" show something talked about the next day.
If all these "awards" ceremonies (which pop up ever few weeks it seems) didn't want the possibility of Mr. West's "behavior" they wouldn't invite him to be there in the first place.
IMHO, it is all a gimmick to keep no talents and not just him in the spotlight a few minutes past their alloted 15 minutes of fame.
I have better things to do with my time than watch ANY of these "awards" shows.

He was on Jay Leno' new show tonight. (Jay said he was scheduled before this happened.) He mumbled something that didn't sound much like an apology to me, but the audience cheered him.

The noise he makes doesn't sound like music to me. Quite a contrast to Taylor Swift who sings and writes great stuff.
