Howdy,

Over the last few months as I see 22 pop up at cabelas i bought my 1 box per order.. I have a bunch of bricks of golden bullets and Thunderbolts. As its starting to cool off here in the desert gun season is starting for me..

As i have been doing some digging lately i see that Remington has a pretty horrid track record and really hope i am not sitting on a bunch of **** ammo.

So i have an opportunity to sell off all my Remington at cost "Im not one to gouge" to a friend of mine. I will also say im not one to get in line at 5am in the morning to try to get a crack at some federal either.

so is the safe bet to hold or sell ?

As it stands i run the SW m&p15-22 and m&p22

thanks

Try it in your guns before you sell it.The new golden bullets work just fine in my Rugers and my Remington.Havent hd a chance to try the thunderbolts yet.

i have never had an issue with the thunderbolts...have shot bricks after bricks through my guns with no mishaps

If you go by the better than nothing theory, keep them. I don't see things changing anytime soon.

Expect ammunition and component shortages after the next presidential election. I learned the cycle many years ago and buy all my ammunition during times when supplies are high so I can sit out the shortages without worry about whether or not I can shoot.

If I were to let some go, the little bit of remington 22 gb I have would be the first to go.

they seem to be working fine in my guns. I have not had any problems.

Sold 3 of the 1400 count buckets this weekend. I had taken them with me in hopes of trading for ammo I didn't have but there was no ammo to be had. Well there was some that dealers have been hauling around for the last 10 years, a box of this or that but no 45acp or 40 s&w. Nada. That was a strange to see. No ammo at a gun show. Anyway back on topic. An individual approached me and offered to buy 2 of the pails I had with me so I sold them for $80 each. A dealer bought the third one. I broke even as I made just enough to pay entry fee and gas there and back.

As for 22lr I prefer CCI as it works in my Buckmark and Sig Trailside.

To the OP: if you sell the ammo best find out if your buddy wants your guns, too. If he doesn't, I'm certain you can sell them on this forum - for what you paid, of course.

All of my .22s shoot the remington gb's just fine, if you enjoy shooting .22s I would keep them, dont think they will get cheaper anytime soon.

Remington is the last brand I'd purchase, however in times like these they are better than nothing. Being that I use .22's strictly for fun stuff, even if it fails to go bang, no big deal. Remington Thunderbolts at least give the Squirrel Brothers a fighting chance as you never know if it will fire.

There is a box at our indoor Range meant to throw .22 dud's into for proper disposal. More than three quarters of them are Remington brand.
That said, unless you can adequately replace them with better ammo, hold on to them for awhile. When 22's are plentiful again you can sell them to the fellas that like the stuff.
