Naturally, with the impending AWB scare, these things are super hard to find. I have been creeping on these forums for about six months and my plan was always to get a new MOE FDE with my income tax return.

Well, thanks to some insanity, some despicable tragedies, a fearful public and a frightening government, my hand has been forced on trying to find one now.

If anyone has a line on a new/gently used 15-22 MOE FDE, please let me know. Price matters, but I am willing to entertain some pretty extreme offers. Basically, if you find/see one, let me know!!!!! Please :D.

I am heareing a lot of people having luck at Walmart. Also if you have them in your area check Ace Hardware stores some of them have gun shops. I know the one locally has a gun shop in the back.

Just gotta think outside the box a little.

Thanks for the tip. I had never heard of Ace carrying them, of course, I always hit Lowes or Home Depot. I'm in the greater DFW area and finding a Wal Mart that actually sells firearms and not just ammo is rare. Of course, I usually don't look too hard.

I found an FDE in Arkansas for $800 even. Comes with ~1000 rounds. What do you guys think?

I realize that is 33% higher than MSRP but some of these are going for $1k+

800? I think the price is nonsense and the purchase is foolish. Welcome tothe club you described as fearful and panic buying. The only reason the price is so high is because you guys are willing to pay it. Do you need it that bad?

Need it? No. But does the possibility of not being able to purchase one in the near to extended future really make me want one. Absolutely.

Originally, I wanted to go with the LaRue Tactical UDE kit, but that runs $200+ anyway and doesn't have the mbus sights which I am really keen on. The mbus sights go for ~$60 alone so now, I would be looking at MSRP +$250-300 to get the rifle I want when I could just buy the MOE version for between $650 and $800.

If someone could tell me without a shadow of a doubt and with legitimate certainty that a new AWB wouldn't forbid me from buying this gun in the next 10+ years, I would wait.

Also, I wasn't referring to the gun community as the fearful one but the uneducated masses that are allowing these tragedies to give the govn't permission to change our rights...

Times are very uncertain right now. You have a President in the office who is known to use executive powers to push his agenda...what ever that may be. Does anyone honestly think that this man will listen to what the gun control panel, led by Biden, recommends if it goes against his agenda? Do we even think that Biden would even recommend any action to his boss if he knows that it is not what the Obama wants to hear? I don't.

Is it foolish to buy one for $800? No, that is a question that each one of us has to make. It is your situation and your decision. Is it foolish to buy an ounce of gold from someone for $1500 when that person only paid $300 for it a long time ago? Not if it is what you want. Is it foolish to buy a Mercedes when a Honda will do the same thing and is much cheaper? No it is not if you want a Mercedes.

One thing is for certain.....no one knows what the future holds as far as these type of guns are concerned. You may be very wise to get one while you can. At a price that you feel comfortable in paying...even if it is more than new cost.:D

Good luck with your search!!:D

Good morning, cde1218 has a FDE Moe for sale for $425 obo in the 15-22 classified section.

Thanks for the reference, the classified thread was the first place I looked. I passed on him, perhaps foolishly, because the post was soooo old. I had actually sent a PM to jobiin because his post was so much newer.

I will see if cde still has his though.

Thanks again.

Rambo, that add is 4 months old.

Buds had MOE's in stock all this week, looks like they may have sold out yesterday. They do have the standard models.

Call around locally, half the shops by me have 15-22's in stock at retail prices.

Posting your location would help too.

Awwwww

Cde1218 has exceeded their stored private messages quota and cannot accept further messages until they clear some space.

Lol... should have known.

I was on Buds late last week(10th/11th) and they have some of the standard models but the MOE's were all out of stock, at least when I checked.

I'm in the North Dallas/Fort Worth area. I didn't post my location because if the price is right and not too far of a drive, I'd be willing to drive to pick it up.

I'm also a military brat and have family/friends all over the country. So if need be, someone could pick it up for me.

Maybe broaden your search. Also look for regular 15-22. You might have more luck finding one that way. You could always put Magpul items on it later.

Get what you really want, but I would rather pay $450 for a standard one and add $150 of magpul items than pay $800 for the moe. The only problem is you may not have the exact color you want and the standard dose not have the rear quick release mount.

I bought a brand new M&P 15-22 at my local gun show yesterday for $550, and there were plenty of them there...

+1

If you're that afraid of missing the boat you should just buy what you can find.

Besides, you can pick the parts and colors you want and it won't look like 90% of the rifles in the picture thread.

I was at Kentucky Gun Co. in Bardstown KY on Friday and they had an MOE FDE on the rack for $599. Guy was looking at it while I was there but didn't want to drop the coin. Look them up on line and give them a call, they're a huge dealer and get shipments every day.
