Keith Olbermann parts ways with MSNBC

MSNBC is no more an unbiased news organization than Fox.

Granted that Fox leans right, but MSNBC is a joke...there is no serious news or analysis on MSNBC - every FOX show I've ever seen has 2 points of view presented.

I remember the CNN "Crossfire" days when there were 4 liberals and one conservative - usually it was Bob Novak who was crucified weekly with jokes about his "country club" pals and caviar cocktail parties - made my skin crawl - I could not understand how he put up with it (eventually he didn't.)

It is like a breath of fresh air to have some avenues of diverse thinking these days - unlike my first 45 or 50 years where there was no choice but to listen to a singular drumbeat, day in and day out and on the nightly news on all 3 networks and most all newspapers.

End rant!

May have mis-understood, but though I heard that MSNBC was being seen as more LOGO than LOGO and had to make adjustments accordingly - but they still have Rachel and Mattews and that other guy.

"I have never seen him."

Me neither. Which makes it easier to ignore this 'news item'.

G'night, Jack

Olberman

ain't stupid and isn't an idiot. He is simply trying to make a lot of money by going opposite of Reilly, Beck and Rush(who by the way, do what they do to make a lot of money). Get a collective clue!!

Olberman's problem is his multitude of personality quirks, which tends to wear out his welcome anywhere.

He never bothered me until they put him on the Sunday football show. He is so smarmy in his attempt to be cute/funny, he just sux!

MSNBC is getting killed...

...at night. No programs touch Fox (O'Reilly, Hannity, Van Sustern) in prime time. Wasn't Olbermann only drawing about 400k watchers? I believe O'Reilly draws at least five times as many viewers.

With Comcast owning NBC, et al, they'll try to stop the hemorrhaging. Olbermann is the first, probably followed by Maddow. Their only option is to move to center-right. Immelt no longer has sway.

CNN is a dead man walking. No one watches Wolf Blitzer, and the same will be true for Piers Morgan. They'll either move to center-right, or go off the air.

FOX news just reported OBAMA wants to use him in his cabinet at some capacity.

Love him or hate give the man his due. His show was the number one show on MSNBC for years and while not many folks here watch, millions did. An idiot? Hardly, more one of the craftiest entertainers to come down the airwaves in years. Take your critical comments of him and substitute Glen Beck, Sean Hanity, Bill O'Riley or Rachel Maddow and you have equally valid statements. Olberman and the rest are all making millions by giving their followers just what they want to hear.

It would be sooo boring if we only had one perspective. MSNBC is no more an unbiased news organization than Fox. They are both in the entertainment business and will continue to play to their core audiences forever...and what's wrong with that? No one forces us to watch/listen to either, just change the channel, after all it's still a semi free country.
Removing tongue from cheek...for now. (o; Flame away.

Why in the world would you want to clutter up a Keith Oberman Bashing thread with such a logical coherent post????

Capt Steve wins for best post.

I've never watched Olberman. I get most of my news online and I watch one of the network evening news shows every night (I alternate nightly). I sometimes catch PBS and BBC news as well.

Cable news is a joke. For me, it's not worth having to sit through 22 hours of opinion just to find the 2 hours of actual news tossed in here and there. I don't need to watch an Olberman or an O'Reily to find out what my opinion is.
