Wow! I also like his music - always a class act. Didn’t think he was that old. I am reminded of him almost daily as his restaurants, Kenny Rogers Roasters, are very popular here in the Philippines and other asian countries I visit, e.g., Thailand, Malaysia, China, etc. I always smile when I see one, they are so out of place - the menu is still very “American.” I don’t think there’re any left in the USA.

Kenny Rogers and The First Edition.

My first album bought at one of the first little five and dime stores that no one thought would ever make it called Wal-Mart!

Kenny started as a hip, rockin’ dude! I always admired him and enjoyed his music.

I found he was just about unrecognizable after his face lift. I had to close my eyes and listen to the voice to ensure it was really him after that.

RIP

He has looked really bad for a long time!
Love his music, I’m still working on -
You got to know when to hold them, know when to fold them.
Saw him long ago at a Vegas Lounge just before he left the First Edition.
Pass in Peace Kenny!

I also had an 8 track with 1st Edition greatest hits that got played over and over with
Just Dropped In,
Ruby
Something's Burning
Reuben James

Many good ones, then he went Country and did alright then, too. :p

We'll miss ya', Kenny.

You watch this and realize him going country would be akin to Jimmie Hendrix joining a bluegrass band!

But I don’t remember people saying, “what the heck happened to Kenny?” I guess he was a master at reinventing himself and good musician singers are good whether it’s Opera or the Grand ole Opry!

I saw this last night right before I went to bed. According to Wikipedia, he was in hospice care when he passed, so he must have had a terminal illness before all this craziness hit.

RIP Kenny!

I bet it won't be long till a "Kenny Rogers" movie is released
