Kenny Rogers has passed

I remember hearing "Ruby" for the first time and being able to see in my mind's eye the scene playing out. Powerful stuff.

RIP, Mr Rogers.

I have much respect for Kenny.

In 1970 I sat behind him on the Shooting Star roller coaster at Cincy's Coney Island.

He never let go of the hand rail.

I always wondered about him and Dolly.

I have been a fan of Kenny Rogers since the 1970's when he and Dolly Parton performed at the Cheyenne Frontier Days. A True Cowboy. I loved his shows.

A True Cowboy? I guess you learn something new every day, I just thought he was a singer and actor.

Always loved "Ruby" and "Reuben James" by the First Edition.

As a solo artist, I like so many of them. But, if I had to pick a favorite, it would be "Daytime Friends"

It reminds me good times with my dad when I was a teen, he and I liked his songs and his voice.

Watched a lot of his shows here in Reno and even drove up to Lake Tahoe for a show.

He had a heck of a voice and was a GREAT entertainer , that knew how to work with the audience and make eack show, something special.

The duet with Dolly (stream) is my favorite song but I still get a kick out of "Condition" that was one of his early hits and in one of his shows, my wife went banana's when, ten feet away, he did "Lady".

One of the greats has passed........... RIP, old friend.

I attended his performance at the Glens Falls Civic Center (upstate NY) in December 2010.
A good show, but I don't think that he was a well man at that time.
I also remember that the audience stayed bundled up. That arena was used for hockey games, and the cold from the ice permeated the wood floor put down for the audience.
