I used to know Jo Anne Hall, when she was Women's IPSC champion. That means that she was the top female artist in combat style pistol shooting...in tne world!
I wrote an article about her for the Colt Handgunning Annual and enjoyed being hosted in her home. She even let my kids, then quite young, come over and coached my son with a Colt .45 auto while my daughter played with her poodle. The son told me recently that her coaching that day helped him to survive several gunfights in Iraq, where his skills made him very effective with a pistol as well as with a rifle.
Jo Anne was smart, articulate, and very, very good with a gun.
That could make many people rather vain. Moreover, she was also a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader! But neither achievement caused her to be arrogant, as some celebs are. She was a joy to know.
We are fortunate to have shooters of this order. I hope that this talented shotgunner, Kim Rhode, gets on Fox News and becomes an excellent ambassador for gun rights. She'd be ideal for NRA ads.
