I don't see the back lit readers as having an advantage. Aren't they harder to read in sunlight and harder on one's eyes? I find my Kindle to be easy on these old eyes and with an accessory cover with a pop out light built-in, it is easy to read the Kindle in dim or no light.

Big advantage. My Galaxy Tab has separate settings for night and day. In our travel trailer and often around the house the most comfortable place to read doesn't have decent lighting, no problem with the Tab. I can even sit around the campfire and read, play games, surf the web etc and not bother anyone with an external light. (o;

I wonder if you can tether a Kindle Fire to a 3G phone like you can a laptop?
