I have bought Klien tools all my life and so did my dad. Electricians tools, made in USA and they were good tools. I still
have some that belonged to my Dad and were used everyday. It
aggravates me when I have to replace a tool from loss. It takes
a while to break in a new tool. Pliers when new have to be opened, broke in ones swing open on their own. Anyway I lost
my cable knife a Klein hawk beak folder with liner lock and
ring on the butt, kind of heavy type knife. I bought a new Klein
#44005, carbon handle with a thumb stud. It was sharp and
worked good and I didn't pay much attention to it. This afternoon
I decided to tune up the edge a little. That's when I noticed in
fine print ( stamped) under Klein was Japan. When I go back
I'm going to check the other pliers and hand tools to see if they
are Jap. Lowes has replaced their good electrician tool with a
Chinese line, Greenly is farming out to China, I'm going to have
to look for another US made brand.
