Machinist tools - any good place for them?

Our local Makers Space would gladly take them. You could get a tax write-off as they are a non-profit organization.

Most people are far better off taking the standard deduction vs. itemizing on their individual returns. You need a considerable sum of eligible deductions to reach the crossover point.

That must be a hard decision to make. Tools have a special place in my heart and even though some or most might go unused for years, they are like family and good friends. Many years ago burglars relieved me of many thousands of dollars in mechanic and machinist tools and even though most have been replaced, I still find the need for some of the tools that were stolen. My radius gauges top the list. One day I'll find a good set at an estate sale and they'll probably never be used. I was surprised at how much plastic is used in good measurement tools today. Yuck. Tools and guns are things my family will have to deal with when I'm gone. I can't see them go.
