One of the first editions of SOG Tomcat. The absolute firsts are stamped S.M.C.A. for Santa Monica California. Very few. Mine is stamped EDM WA. For Edmunds, Washington. That was there first company headquarters. Not many stamped like that either. All others afterwards had no location stamps

Here's an original George Herron skinner, #783. I haven't been able to identify Scrimshaw artist "S D". I assume the work was done in 1981.

This is an early Rolox knife by Benchmark. It has a complicated mechanism that allows the blade to slide back into the handle.

I'll end with a German gravity knife made by Gebr. Grafrath in Soligen Germany.

Here are a couple of my knives. The first one is a Buck folder with orange handles. It came with an orange camo scabbard.

The other knife is a folding filet knife that Remington was marketing in conjunction with Stren fishing line. The Stren name is etched on the blade. Not only will it filet fish, but it was great for cutting up peppers and onions in chili cookoffs.

All very nice to look at. Got back into knives myself after seeing how many makes, models, and the quality of blades today. Just glad I held onto that Puma Skinner I bought in 67. Back then around $26 I believe. for EDC now I am happy with my Sog Trident AT-XR spring assist.

While I'll admit my Spyderco Delica K390 is a fantastic knife, my true likes are with traditional style folders and sheath knives.

I'm not sure that I have a knife that I haven't posted more than once; let's stick to these three:

iscs-yoda-albums-blades-picture17934-toner.jpg

Custom made by a gent named "Toner", I have had it for many years. The best part is that the sheath that he made is for the pocket, it has no belt loop, etc. Which makes it ultimately concealable and as I understand the knife laws in certain places that I have to travel without a firearm, it is perfectly legal.

I especially like the odd shaped top one because I can belt carry it to steak restaurants and it, of course, cuts better than their knives.

The lower one is just cool but the sheath melted a little bit in my 2018 fire so it doesn't hold it as it used to.

My Titusville PA knives

Here are my toothpick knives from Great Eastern Cutlery and a utility knife from Queen Cutlery. The toothpicks are Aqua Camel Bone and Sambar Stag. The Queen Cutlery utility knife is Zebra African Hardwood.

The reddish tint is from the patio umbrella. For some reason, Android likes to rotate attachments. My formative years were from the Titusville area.

This knife, not this actual one but one like it, was the first knife issued to me.
We carried them in the knee pocket of our flying suits with the shroud cutter open.
Often it was at home in the dirty flying suit.
Later I carried it in a G Suit, it was always there!

I stopped at a yard sale one Friday,, and saw a nice large gym bag looking thing,, it looked like it would make a nice bugout bag,, if I ever wanted one.

I asked how much, she said $2,, I bought it,,

I thought it was kinda heavy,, when I got home, I found this inside the bag,,,

If you ever get into northern PA, go to the Zippo Lighter/Case Knives Museum and Stort in Bradford, PA. You will see an absolutely awesome display of Case knives and a tremendous number of Case knives for sale. I was up that way for a wedding and decided this was just too good to pass up, so I went to see it yesterday.

It's a rescue tool similar to this one.

Just a moment...

As a teenager, I could never keep up with a knife. So I was never I knife guy. But years later when I began to see knives as tools, I learned to appreciate them more.

These were built by Joel Green, Grit City Knives from Tacoma. Three of them are solid working knives and one is just pretty. The Bird & Trout with the light colored micarta handles has a San Mai blade, the pictures don't do it justice.

The first one is a Street Cleaver, the second is a Strongside, the next two are Bird & Trout's.

Tacoma Approved !!

I have an almost identical orange Buck with NRA-ILA on the blade. It was a gift from the NRA for making a donation.
