Are all L-frame ejector rods the same for 4” guns? From 1980 to the present.

So I could contact S&W and buy a new stainless ejector rod for an early 80’s L-frame 4”? They never charged the design from early 80’s to today?

I have to say that S&W’s customer service is a joke and basically a waste of time. I sent them an email asking the same question I asked in this post and the woman replied back not answering any of my questions but wanted to know the serial number and any other information on the gun. So I sent it to her and I didn’t hear back from her. So I sent her another email asking her if she was gonna sell me a new ejector rod. two minutes later she sends me an email saying I would have to send the gun in for evaluation and custom work and they would give me a quote and if I like the quote they would do the work. So I had to send her another email back telling her I didn’t need any evaluation or custom work all I needed was a new ejector rod and if she knew that she couldn’t sell me one why did she need my serial number and other information about the gun. And why didn’t she tell me in her first email that she wouldn’t be able to sell me one.
I’ve yet to hear back from her

Midway usually has blued extractor rods in stock, if that's what you need. You can also often find them at Numrich, or Brownell's.

The Customer Service people want your model and serial number to ensure they send the correct part. However, always keep in mind that the people you have on the phone know absolutely nothing about your revolver.

I have to apologize to Smith & Wesson customer service. I just received an email saying she misunderstood what I wanted and she assured me I have an ejector rod headed my way free of charge.
So now I have three ejector rods headed my way.
