Does anyone know if a L frame gun will fit in a K frame holster? Is there that much frame difference?

The frame size and barrel lug proportions are different, with the L frame being larger, and having the full length lug. Better off getting a holster made specifically for the L frame.
Anyway, that's my opinion.......

I have Safariland holsters that can be adjusted for either K or L frames. However, you can't just use an L frame in it one time and a K frame the next without readjusting. If adjusted for the L, the K frame is loose in it. The cylinders are different sizes.

My experience with the boned leather holsters is similar: once stretched for an L, the K s don't really fit.

I have several 4" K frame holsters and my 4" 686 will not fit. I also have several 4" L frame holsters and my model 10HB is loose in them. The L frame and Colt Python are nearly identical in size and will fit the same holsters most of the time. There are some holsters that the Python and L frame won't share but they would be police duty styles that mold to the specfic revolver and the hammers.
