Can the little LadySmith, (1902 > 1921) be fired? If in good condition.
.22 LR ammo?
.22 long?
.22 short?
Standard, target or subsonic only.

I have a third model, and yes, I've shot it sparingly. It is surprisingly accurate, but its bore is pristine.
They were chambered for .22 Long or shorter cartridges. A .22 Long Rifle won't quite clear the cylinder.

I only shoot mine (along with my .22 Short tip-ups from the post-civil war era) with .22 CB Shorts. Many people don't even advise this, but a gun in good condition shouldn't be harmed by these very light loads. Don't use High Speed shorts or the like, even in the Ladysmiths. Stick to the subsonic 'gallery'
type loads.

I've had a piece of lead in my left hand for the past 20 years to remind me it might not be a good idea...
A fellow at the range in the next lane was shooting what I believe was a Second Model (?)with some hot 22 CCI and the poor thing just blew appart. He was not hurt but the gun was gone and I was pretty shaken though not badly hurt. I was 12 years old and I will not forget...

Many Thanks for the replies.
.22 CB. Once in a while. Sounds Good.

Now I will have to look to buy one !
