Lasers?

Snubbies are tough to shoot. I got better when I quit aiming. Point and shoot. A laser sure helps and makes a small self defense pistol much more effective.

I also wear bifocals (actually noline bifocals) and if awakened as I stated in an earlier post I would have to rely on the red laser dot on the target as my eyesight is very poor without my glasses but with a laser kinda like a shot gun just point in the general direction but with the laser you see pretty much where the bullet will go!

That is easy enough for me, hope this helps in your decision!

Same here, I was never a big laser fan but as I age and my eye sight gets a little off. I'm starting to like them.

Just following up... I shot with a buddy today. He had his rail-mounted green laser on his full sized non M&P gun. Way cool :) It was $50 on amazon. I believe it was this one. In case the CT price is too steep.

Anyway, I am a laser fan now that I've tried them out. I prefer iron sights at the range, but for home use, they're great... as others have stated, gives the option of keeping the gun close to chest. I'll probably pick one up soon, but a compact laser.

I have a Ruger LCP, and I shot it using iron sights and liked the weapon but not the sights. i started using the left side of the frame and could hit consistently that way. i added a CT triggerguard laser. That thing is great! It can be adj. for windage & elevation so i was able to put the dot where I wanted. In the sunlight- worthless, in hte dark/low-light priceless. I don't need it in the light 'cause I can see to use the sights(left side of the frame). But when the lights gone and all I can see is a fuzz target, I can still get an accurate shot! A great workable tool!

T-Bone,
... I dry fire a lot, do the CT grips come with an off switch? Any problems holding zero?

The CT lasergrip that came with my M&P 40 FS has a separate off switch that will keep it off if you don't want the grip button to activate it. Mine hasn't lost its zero.

"A laser would certainly reduce the time needed to acquire a target."

This is the exact reason I have lasers on both of my carry guns.:)

I see there are people out there with the same issues as I have wearing bifocals. I think I will start looking for a laser for my SD9. Any thoughts on one for SD9?

My S&W snubby has a Crimson Trace. I can finally hit something with a snubby!

And from any position; prone, sitting, standing, dazed, wounded...if I can hold that dot on the target, there will be a .357" hole in it.

My M-9 has one too.

The local cops have them on their duty handguns.

So I give a thumbs-up.

Si at least as far as this forum goes with people with both good and poor eyesight especially without glasses or visual aids the laser is a good thing to have mostly at night when the laser is really easy to see regardless of color of laser.

Get one and turn it off during the day and at night turn it on and be prepared (boy scout motto)!

I have a CT on my kahr CM9.

They are nice, but night sights will go on my M&P

I use the sight picture 100 percent on my kahr, kind of a waste to be honest

Yes, and it drives me nucking futz. If I wear glasses the sites are clear as a bell and the target is real blurry. If I take the glasses off the target is clear and the sites are real blurry. I think I just need to get longer arms. Because each year it gets worse.

I have the CT on my 9c and think it is great. I have one on my full size 9 HD gun. I really want one for my 45c and they do not make one. They do now make the one for the rails but that means holster modifications or new holsters..not an option. As someone said they do not seem to be very customer friendly when it comes to new products suggestions. With the way the M&P's are selling I would think CT models for all of them would be in the plans.....

CT are good but overpriced. Several LaserLyte units have worked well for me and are more reasonably priced. I don't necessarily want to change grips, just add a laser to some pieces.

I'm right handed, but I want the nonexistent left handed model. I'd rather have the laser on the other side of the gun because my finger would always be blocking the beam. Im not touching the trigger until its time to shoot, its way too light for that, at 3 pounds or so.
