I hope it is anyway, Right now it is minus 20. Low was -22. Not talking windchill either just that cold. Supposed to be in the 50s next week though.

It has been a pretty mild winter really, think it only went below zero less than 20 times, but went above freezing more often. But, I am glad it is about over.

I guess you could say the winter has been mild here in cornfields and cows country, up until February, that is. Snow and ice have been the middle of the week norm and tonight and tomorrow night looks like more of the same, according to the weather folks. Winter can't get over soon enough for me!

As much as I have always liked the changing of the seasons, if I could start life over knowing everything I know now, I would probably be living somewhere in the Southwest as opposed to the Midwest.

-2 in Denver this morning, pretty cold yesterday too. Likely extended my denver metro ice fishing season by a week or so.

Yesterday morning 52 degrees, this morning temp. in the teens and 2-3
inches of sleet/freezing rain mix. Supposed to continue through Thursday
and then back into the 50's. Oh, it was in the 60's on Monday, but, this
type of weather is not unusual in NW Arkansas.

It was in the low 50's here last week.
Then we got an inch of snow Monday, and temps have been as low as 8 degrees since.

And here I thought spring was starting up.

75 Monday, 65 yesterday, and 30 today. Back into upper 50s tomorrow, they say. Winter has been somewhat milder than usual this year in these parts. I'm hoping this is the last real cold we get, but I've seen it snow in April before, too.

Has been mild until this week. This morning it was 16 and I think the high was 35 today.
Employees are mad. Have them out cleaning car washes this week. I remember when it was just me doing all the crappy work. Now we share it whether they want to or not.

Let me ask you warm winter people some questions?

How many cockroaches in your area?

How many Rats?

How many poisonous reptiles?

How many wild hogs?

How many invasive species?

How many humans of the the above descriptions?

We have field mice and a few prairie rattlers and most of the time the effects of their bite is mild. You do see a pack rat from time to time. Gophers and prairie dogs stay in their fields and make excellent targets. I myself have never seen a cockroach in Montana despite spending over 50 of my 70 years here.

Our 7 cities that go from Largest at 110,000 to 26,000 have a few 2 and 4 leg cockroaches and rats. They are also the only place you will have any kind of a traffic jam. How many of you have blue ribbon trout streams in your town you can walk down to and have over 100 yds or more of to yourself? How long are the ski areas within 100 miles of you open every year. Can you buy 2 elk tags every year and does your regular big game season last 5 weeks and do you have shoulder seasons that go on for months?

Yup the cold can suck, but it does more good than bad

The Arkansas agri. dept. just reported 27,803 wild (feral) hogs
had been taken in the last 2 years by the state. No count on
how many taken out by hunters/land owners.

We know how to deal withe the cold, have clothes for it, tires for it, show mobiles, lots of natural gas. I can put on enough clothes to be comfortable at -20. Can you take of enough to be comfortable at 100 with high humidity?

Let me ask you warm climate guys another question. I was just at the grocery store. I looked and could see that there were at least 20 empty cars idling in the parking lot. Last year we had 1 stolen car here. How were stolen in your area even when everyone locks them up???

That happens here too. In Summer folks would rather have the car stolen than turn off the A/C. Seriously, there's probably several weeks out of the year I'd prefer Montana. Joe

Actually parts of Montana get above 100 in the summer. Happens regularly in the eastern part. But the humidity stays low. My brother and I went to Ponca city OK in the fall. Even at 80 degrees working night shift was horrible, just wearing coveralls over out underwear we would be ringing wet. You guys can have it. Like I said I can dress to be outside well below 0. Your humid summer heat is unbearable without being inside an air conditioned enclosure. Any where near the southern east coast is terrible because of that
