Found another Victory Model today. Stamped on butt frame V (lanyard) 768255, barrle V768255 P, cylinder V 768255 P, ejector 768255. Frame is P stamped upper left side. Assembly number A8 33560. Barrel legend reads 38 S.& W. CTG with the Maltese cross before and after. Finish is dark but does't seem parked. Grips are plain wood but not matching the SN#. When cylinder is out 74C1367 is revealed..EP'd on flat of frame. Pistol will chamber a 38 Special cartridge. Here is a link to pics. http://www.gunboards.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=241954&PID=1401096#1401096

Looks like a regular 4 inch barreled Defense Supply Commission Guard Gun. However the .38 S&W caliber stamping on the barrel is probably a factory error. Ed

I see only one step or ledge..but there is a band of light machine marks between the ledge and the smoother cylinder walls at the rear end of cylinder.
