LCP Max: Yea or Nay?

I went to my LGS thinking I was going to get the LCP Max and instead I left with the S&W CSX 9mm which ends up as a whole other story.

Bought the first LCP I ever saw when they first came out. Never really fit my hands. I guess they are to large to get a comfortable grip. Felt like a firecracker going off every time I shot it. I made do with it because it was so handy to carry. Finally sent it down the road. Better choices for me.

Either way, I have fired the LCP Max. The trigger is too light for me for pocket carry without a safety, so it's out either way.

Just curious to know if you measured the trigger pull? My LCP measures 7 lbs & I measured a friend’s LCP2 @ 7 lbs. I would not want anything lighter on a self defense pistol, especially if it’s to be in a pocket holster.[/QUOTE]

I did not measure it. It wasn’t my gun. It was actually a very nice trigger. Just not something I would want in a pocket. It felt like the trigger on my LC9S, but at least that one has a safety.

I’m satisfied with mine. I like 11 or 13 rounds in my pocket without it feeling like a brick. Carries well in pocket, on belt, or iwb.

Boy I couldn't disagree more. I've pocket carried every day of the year for more than 20 years straight. Fully loaded. No safeties. In a proper pocket holster. Completely safe. In a holster, a gun will never go off.

In fact, I wouldn't carry or even own a pocket carry gun that has a safety on it. I despise safeties and find them to be failure points that can get you killed. There is video evidence on the active self protection YouTube channel that safeties can get you killed. Even well trained folks can forget to turn the safety off in a dynamic encounter.

My pocket carry guns are a Glock 42, Glock 43, Glock 26, Ruger LCP, Ruger LCP Max, Sig P365, Smith 340SC. All fully loaded with one in the chamber. None of them have a safety and all of them are safe in a pocket. Draw from the pocket, press the trigger, it goes bang. Easy. Simple. Reliable. No failure points.

The LCP uses a lightweight titanium firing pin. It wont fire if dropped. Its drop safe.
(Please excuse the off topic post.)
Which holster do you use for the Glock 26?
