I would check the hardness of your bullet. 231 is a relatively fast burning, powder, and the .41 mag could easily do well with a slower burning powder. I don't load for the .41, so I'll let those who do recommend the best powder to use. Unique is slower, and doesn't burn as hot, but does not meter as well. I would think 296 would work, and does meter very well. It does have a pretty good muzzle flash though in most revolvers. 4227 does not, but is a stick powder and again doesn't meter too well. Accurate 7 and Accurate 9 both work well in 44 mag, so may woek well in the .41.
