Leaf screw for rear sight on R8 revolver

Hi all,

So I had removed the rear sight assembly on my R8 and lost the darn leaf screw...Is there a replacement screw I can buy?

Why is it so hard for people to understand that the first place to check for service and parts is with the manufacturer of the product?

I just saw midwayusa has it for 8.99.
I would only mention this because I did call the factory a few months ago for a revolver spring. They confirmed my address and.. I'm still waiting for it. Before the move they were more ..on top of things. Maybe they still need to settle in. I hear they had a really good last quarter.

Or maybe the post office lost it - as they have a few items that were sent to me by various sources - and it wasn't S&W's fault at all?

I don't mind paying for one, I don't wanna play tag with S&W trying to get one from them...

If you ever order from Brownells or such, add some of the small parts you are apt to loose or damage to your order. Leaf screws, side plate screws, pins, springs and such are pretty cheap and nice to have on hand for just such an occurrence.

I just called them . They're closed. If I remember tomorrow I'll call. I fugre I've given them enough time by now.

The spring is kinda important- but have not been using the gun and have gotten sidetracked.




Update 7/3. The tracking number generated came up as a blank. No information could be retrieved. They couldn't confirm it was sent?

They're sending me the spring again. The lady was very nice and gave me the order #.

Now I cross my fingers.

Just got the spring today. It took them 12 days from the last time I called them, to get it.

Coincidentally, I called the manufacturer of my “scary, black AR type gun” and pretty much had to go through a root canal to get what I needed, and since everyone sells parts for these things I called Midway instead and got what they called a Whoops Kit! Glad I did because the kit included another part I learned I needed; it wasn’t included with the manufacturer’s part. I guess I got lucky by not getting one tiny part for free from the manufacturer!
