A friend asked me to sight in his M&P 9 with Crimson Trace grip.

I ran through over 50 rounds before I figured out you have to move the dot like you do a front sight: OPPOSITE where you want to move the point of impact. I must have missed that in the instructions.

Once I figured that out I got it sighted quickly then fired a magazine full for group. I found that my trigger discipline went downhill. I kept yanking when the dot was right where I wanted it to be rather than the proper pull like I did with the iron sights.

Laser grips take some getting used too. You have to concentrate on the dot/POA ( vs sights) while squeezing. I always split my practice with /without the laser on and it seems to help.

I'm a little embarrassed to admit that I, too, burned about 15 unnecessary rounds before I realized I was adjusting the wrong way. IMHO they could make this a little more clear in the instructions--although I'll admit if I'd taken a minute to think it through instead of just blasting away I wouldn't have wasted the ammo.

One other tidbit I learned is that when firing hot rounds I tend to trip the on/off switch (on the LG405) with the pinky I keep curled under the grip. A judiciously applied strip of tape fixes that problem.

I am learning about the characteristics of shooting with a CT. This is my first pistol, and first 100 rounds out of a pistol period. I didn't use the CT for the first few clips, found that the gun is incredibly accurate, and then tried the CT, which amplified the gun to be the best piece that i have ever used!
