Anyone who uses the 9mm 4 die Lee set can you tell me if this is normal.
The factory crimp die says to screw the die in until it touches the head of the press and back the adjusting screw out. Then you press the loaded round into place and screw the adjuster down. When I start to press the loaded round in about 1/2 way it gets tight, even before I adjust the screw down. I still adjusted until I felt it touch and then 1/2 turn like it said but that initial resistance before the final crimp looks like its squeezing the case side inward a little. My thought was to back the die out until I could press the round up all the way then tighten the crimp screw down? Or should it be squeezing the case before crimping like that?

My Lee 9mm die works exactly the same way. These dies actually resize the finished round as well as crimping it. You should adjust the crimping stem so that it removes the belling at the case mouth and gives a mouth diameter of 0.379 inches.

Ok, I have setup just like their video shows.
They drop in the barrel fine just like factory ammo.
I measured .376 at the mouth and .374 right below where th bottle seated to.

I ordered lee's little scale because of its small size. I actually want to go with a light load rather than getting close to max. Wife didn't like the kick so I'm going to see if a starting load or maybe a tenth under will soften it for her. Get her shooting some and build back up to factory kick.
My range is in WV and I live in Ohio so I wanted to be able to take my setup with me. Everything from tools to supplies fits in an ammo box

Eventually I'll get a bigger setup and store these down there.
