I mentioned in another thread I am looking to get a friend one of the newer Lee 6000 6 pack reloading machines. Anyone on here gotten one? Any info on the machines. Lee is not my cuppa tea but that is what he was talking about. Any feedback on the 6000 press will be appreciated. I don't want to get him a piece of junk! Thanks

It seems about as straight forward of a design as could be executed. Even their pro1000 did rather well except for it's priming station. If they resolved this on the 6000, there will be very little to complain about. If not, hand priming is an opportunity to inspect your brass

Been looking at some stuff about this press online. I don't have much faith in Lee progressive presses. Have tried a few and they all left a lot to be desired. I call the Loadmaster the junkmaster. it looks good but the priming setup sucks and the press never stayed adjusted correctly. I've been using progressives most of my loading "career" for a better word.. Most have/had their idiosyncrasies. But some just seem to work. incredibly well. As far as this press...most reviews say the priming system seems to work pretty well. My feelings on a progressive...if the priming doesn't work...then it is not progressive. By the time I start to reload I have pretty much inspected cases and don't want to prime off the press. That makes it a turret. The old Star and CH inlines worked pretty well. the Dillons all seem to work as they should. The two Hornady's I had primed and dropped powder well but could get neither to stay in adjustment...maybe they just frustrated me. Guess I'm going to get one of the 6000s for my friend. He is pretty handy so maybe he can keep one of these running. He can run a Mec 650/Grabber so hopefully he can keep this running. I sold him the 450 I'm getting back and the 550 he uses and he bought another 550 from his wife's grandfather. I just didn't want to give him a gift that doesn't work. Heck there are some people dedicated enough to keep a Loadmaster going. Yes...I admit Lee has made some innovative products. I just wish they and others didn't use so much plastic.
