i would like to know if anyone knows how to adjust the powder thru die. and the powder measure so i do not get the case expanded to much? if i get the die adjusted to the amount of expansion i want, the powder measure will not dump enough powder. i adjust for the right powder load, and the case is expanded too much. i cannot get the balance between the 2 equal. i talked with lee and was told that i would have to go by the proper powder charge only. i do not want as much expansion as i get with that setup. does anyone have any similar problem? any suggestions helpful. thank you. scooter-2

Are you raising the powder measure to decrease the expansion, or the die?
The powder measure should be screwed all the way into the expander die so its nice and tight. Then you can adjust the amount of expansion by raising or lowering the die in the turret (or in the press for a single stage). You might have to loosen the powder measure to adjust the die to keep things in alignment, but you have to re-tighten it (the powder measure) before you check the expansion on another case.

The powder measure and it's tube is press down on the flaring part in the die, so once you have it assembled tight. then loosen the big nut hold the die and adjust it up or down until you have the correct flare. It should not change how much powder is dropped. If you have the safety prime attached to the press you may have to swing the powder hopper out of the way so it clears the primer holder. It just barely misses when installed correctly(on the turret press)

The only time I have an issue like yours is with brass that is too thin. (junk brass). I can adjust nearly all the flare out and still get 100% consistent powder drops. I also find that when brass exhibits this problem, casemouth tension/ setback/ bullets backing out in a revolver also tend to be a problem.
The only other alternative you have is to run a lighter return spring, or, no spring at all and return it manually. A lighter spring will increase your chances that the disk will not return so you would have to consciously check it each time.

This might help, works for me...Find some copper wire around .050" dia.
coil it around a .308" dia. (Craftsman #3 phillips) shaft. Cut a coil of wire (or two) and set it between the powder drop tube and the measure tube to increase the throw of the disk at the height you need to get the proper flair on the case.....

I see that no one has mentioned that cases need to be the same length. If you are using range pick up brass, then you will need to trim them to uniform length to have uniform expanding.
