Mine throws ball and conical shaped powders with surgical precision. However, it isn't even close with flake shaped powders. Any suggestions?

Sounds normal to me.

In handguns, the variations make less difference in the observed ballistics than commonly believed.

However, if you have to make a power factor for competition and are working close to the edge, the flake powders may not be the first choice.

In any case, the powder measures need to be checked with scales when setting up and changing lots of powder.

It is my experience that large flake powders are the most inconsistent metering powders made. The first powder I used when I started reloading was IMR 800X. I soon learned it was not the best powder to use in a powder measure. I still have a partial can of it left and I now use a Lee Powder Scoop when loading with it. I use 800X in 357 mag loads and it performs well. Once it is used up I will probably not purchase any more. There are other powders that will do the job and also meter a lot better.
