My GREAT UNCLE, world famous holster maker Lefty Lewis, founder of BELL CHARTER OAK HOLSTERS, is very alive contrary to what others may have reported. I am hoping this post here, and elsewhere, will get the word out. He has heroically fought cancer for the last two years. Despite the cancer over the past few years, strokes and heart attacks in earlier years, he has fought tough and will not quit. If your fortunate enough to know him, you understand the kind of man he is. A tough old cop, plain and simple.
Sometime ago, I have been told, that this quintessential collector of S&W revolvers (and many other firearms) was a vendor on this forum, and a contributor to it as well. So I thought this was a good place to correct the rumors that have circulated, according to our customers. Apparently, according to Lefty, he made many friends who are S&W collectors here.
I and a few other folks, keep BELL CHARTER OAK HOLSTERS running day to day, but make no mistake, Lefty is the maker, every single holster, every single belt or accessory has his hands on it, and his benchmark when finished.
For those of you who know him and have wondered where he has been, he sends his very best regards. Not in a hospital, but on his feet in the shop making gun leather. Thank you for reading, please pass the word along.
God Bless You All:
Elmo Jackson
